The island of Krk is known for its beautiful views, rich historical heritage, untouched nature, attractive offer of indigenous specialties and wines and numerous opportunities for active holidays.
In recent years, with the growing trend of interest in active holidays, programs that include walking, hiking, trekking and cycling are increasingly appearing in the offer of destinations.
The island of Krk is networked with hiking and biking trails with a total length of over 500 km. In addition to promotional materials – joint maps of hike and bike trails, mobile applications KRKHike and KrkBike were created, which enable the search of hiking and mountaineering trails, as well as GPS navigation routes.
In accordance with the demand and more and more frequent inquiries, in addition to the above, the offer of electric bicycles has been developing more and more, with a system of public bicycles in the excellent organization of the utility company Ponikve eko tok Krk. The island of Krk develops sustainable and responsible tourism and the emphasis on eco is extremely important in branding the island of Krk as an eco destination.
The tourist boards of the island of Krk, in cooperation with Ponikve eco island of Krk, have launched another interesting program, connecting e-bikes and gastronomy – KRK FOOD STORY.
Eighty electric bicycles are available for use throughout the island, and rental stations have been built in the city of Krk and all Krk municipalities. Through the Eco Island Krk e-bike rental system, all municipalities and the city of Krk are networked into one whole.
If a guest comes to the restaurants participating in Krk Food Story on e-bikes, they can ask their hosts for vouchers that allow the time spent in restaurants to be deducted from the price of renting e-bikes.
Krk Food Story with e-bikes lasts until June 20, and 32 facilities are included, which have prepared an offer of 150 specialties for the occasion!
Sea prosciutto, šurlice with Kvarner shrimps, steak and sheep cheese salad, prosciutto, hazelnut and young cheese pate, lamb sarmis in grapevine, cuttlefish broth, grilled octopus legs, lumbul stuffed with asparagus and žlahtina wine ice cream, are just a part are lavish offers this spring.
Lovers of Krk lamb, which feeds on aromatic, wind-salted wild herbs, are waiting in restaurants: prosciutto and lamb sausages, lamb sarmis in the vine, stuffed lamb neck, lamb under the oven and on the spit; specialties with lamb entrails, lamb cooked with Krk vegetables and many other lamb delicacies.
Variations of this proposal are numerous, on Krk Food Story you can spend days and days in a combination of activities, fine tastes and beautiful views.

Krk Food Story is realized in cooperation with the Tourist Board of the Island of Krk, local Tourist Board Tourist Board Krka, TZO Omišalj, TZO Punat, TZO Baška, TZO Malinska – Dubašnica, TZO Vrbnik, TZO Dobrinj, caterers, Gastronaut and Ponikve eco island Krk.
All dishes are on offer until June 20, and some of them remain permanently on the menus of Krk restaurants.
